Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Development Manager to lead our backend development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Java Spring Boot, a deep understanding of fintech/startup environments, and a proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges. You will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of our backend systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and secure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of backend developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Architecture & Design: Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend systems using Java Spring Boot, ensuring they meet high performance and security standards.
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with the Product team by performing technical feasibility studies, time and effort estimations, and IT risk assessments.
- Provide technical support and insight during the product development process, ensuring alignment with backend capabilities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and QA, to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Database Management: Oversee the development and optimization of MySQL databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
- Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating them into our technology stack where applicable.
- Code Quality: Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, ensuring high standards are maintained across the development team.
- Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Startup/Fintech Mindset: Apply a hands-on approach to problem-solving, with a focus on agility, rapid iteration, and the ability to pivot when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in backend development with a strong focus on Java Spring Boot.
- Leadership: Proven experience leading a software development team.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of microservice, MySQL including database design, optimization, and management.
- Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Startup/Fintech Experience: Prior experience working in a startup or fintech environment, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
